Lord Krishna Polytechnic College, Kapurthala was established by the Lord Krishna educational society (Regd.) with the sole aim of providing quality technical education to the youth of the region and adjoining areas, in the year 2003 when there was no technical institution in this part of the state .The society has been formed for imparting technical and job oriented education to the youth of our state in the rural area.
The institution is situated on the kapurthala –subhanpur road and is about 7 km from the city the institute is easily approachable from districts of Amritsar, Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur and TarnTaran. It is well connected by bus and train routes. Kapurthala is a formerly princely state known as Paris of Punjab as the main palace of Maharaja kapurthala is a replica of palace of Versailles, situated in Paris in France.
The institute homes and aesthetically designed and well furnished building with more than one Lac Sq.ft.built-in –area of ‘A’ class construction .The building has been constructed as per the norms of AICTE, New Delhi /Punjab State Board of Technical Education & Industrial Training, Chandigarh / Punjab Govt. The campus was sprawling lawns, quite and pollution free atmosphere so conductive to serious studies and equally fit for sports and games.
The foundation stone of this polytechnic college was laid by S. Mohinder Singh Kaypee, the then Technical Education Minister, Govt .of Punjab on 20th March 2003.
